Awesome Macros for Controller users ! part 1

It took me some time to find this info, so i thought of helping some of you with this.
When your press your LT + RT it gives you 8 more skills you can use.
RT + LT are 8 others... so that's 16 more skills you can use without having to switch to another page.
How to put the skills you want in these spaces ?

All the skills that you will set on page 8 of your controller will become RT + LT / LT + RT from your page 1... or all other pages for that matter.
If you use only 1 job, you can just put anything you want on page 8 and you'll be fine. Once the skills are set on page 8, you wont need your page 8 anymore. Return to you main page, which i assume is your page 1, and use RT + LT / LT + RT. The skills will be there.

BUT what if you have more then just 1 job and you want to use different skills on your RT + LT / LT + RT from all of them ? Every time you will manually put the skills on page 8, and remove them for your next job ? NOOOOO don’t do that to yourself.
Make macros. You will see, it's macrolicious !

To put a skill to a page... Precisely page 8... here is what you do...
First of all, you must know the squares on your controller show up in 4 groups. For each of these groups, the squares are identified with numbers.

Each group have the east, north, west and south pattern. First group goes like this : EAST (1), NORTH (2), WEST (3), SOUTH (4)... Second group will also follow the east(5), north(6), west(7) and south(8) pattern, but as you can see, the numbers continue. Third group, will go E9, N10, W11, S12 and 4th group : E13, N14, W15 and S16.

To equip a skill to your page 8, at square 9, which represent the second group, east, you write this command: (let's take Sentinel, as an example)

/macroicon "Sentinel"
/crosshotbar set "Sentinel" 8 9

There you go.. You can now put all the skills you want on page 8... Personally, i use page 5 to put all skills from my WHM... page 6 are for when i am on my WAR and page 7 for when I am on PLD.

Let’s say I am currently on my WHM, but I am tired of healing people. Let’s just pretend I want to PvP and abuse my stun like an addict! What do I do? I change to PLD, of course. I go on my page 7, press all the squares, 1 to 16, and then I go on my page 1. I can now use RT + LT or LT + RT. All my WHM skills are there!

I am about to enter PvP… but an FC friend needs a tank for Bismarck. I don’t feel going with my PLD, he hits like an 8 years old schoolgirl veggie. What am I going to do? That’s right, I’m jumping on page 6, for my WAR, pressing all the buttons once. That removes all PLD skills on page 8 and instead, put all the skills from WAR.

Now, I go back on my main page combat, with is page 1, and I can use RT/LT all day, as long as I stay on WAR.

How to use a skill AND AT THE SAME TIME, that skill will bring you to another page? I am glad you ask.

Let’s say I am running a dungeon as a WHM. I am healing, healing, healing… zzzz Darn DPS are weak, mobs won’t die... Here is a thought… how about I put on my cleric stance suit and DPS some!

I quickly press my cleric stance macro:

/macroicon "Cleric Stance"
/ac "Cleric Stance"
/chotbar change 3

So now i am on page 3, with all my DPS skills... Asylum, holy, holy, holy… ooh but my tank is about to die now…

I once again, press on my cleric stance macro, on page 3 :

/macroicon "Cleric Stance"
/ac "Cleric Stance"
/chotbar change 1

So now, i don't have to manually switch pages… It does it for me.

Here is a macro bonus for healers out there and you are low on mana and you want the BRD to give you ballad (that macro is really for new players. I doubt vets don't know that one):

/crosshotbar set Macro 11
/p My mana Please check it.

I was in A4 as a WHM, my mana hit bottom… I was as dry as the Sahara… and I used that macro. The 2 bards never gave me the songs and we almost wipe…

I spammed the normal 3 x lines… waited, spammed 3 times again… 1 minute later.. I spammed 10 times in a row, nothing!

At the end of dungeon, bards left without a word and what do I get? “n00b WHM, learn to manage your mana”.


People don’t get it.. They don’t want to put the efforts needed to reach the truth. They jump on the trendy conclusion. And now, if a WHM need mana, trend is: he’s a n00b.

They don’t want to think both WHMs had 20 i-level difference… They see 2 WHMs there, with one never struggles with mana, their brain shuts down for any other reasons. That WHM has to be a n00b.
They don’t want to think the lower level WHM was faster on heals and raise…

Now the trend is … DPS, DPS, DPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. So, tanks are asked to put their DPS suit, WAR is a god, healers must DPS at some point in battles and BRDs, don’t use songs, just DPS!
Yes, that’s the era we live in today, in this game. Just don’t argue back, it’s pointless… I tried. We are outnumbered by idiocy. Just let it go friend… just let it go: P
