I'm out ATM but watched a minute. This is my bronze experience.
I don't play this game (keep hearing that it isn't noob-friendly at all), but sometimes do watch the streams; mostly don't have any idea what is going on, but find them oddly fascinating. Other than the general rudeness of the chat, can you tell me what is going on here, or would that be to complex to explain? Why are players being reported? I tried to follow the chat, but there are a lot of abbreviations that I don't know. (Sorry for stupid questions, just trying to understand the game.)
This one is kind of hard to explain because its very inside baseball-y. Basically though he picks to play something that's different from the games meta (usually a bad sign honestly, usually means you are about to get trolled) he takes an attack damage carry to the mid lane (usually they go bottom lane). His team basically loses their minds and starts talking crap in chat (that much is clear to the casual observer). What seems to start things off bad is that they blame the dude for the other team invading his teams junglers buff (which they couldn't and shouldn't have stopped). It was in no way his fault and he did the right thing and got the hell out of there. From there they continue to talk crap about him all game.
The funniest part is the guy actually does pretty damn good playing. They actually had nothing to complain about and ended up winning the game.
Omg Slippers you must try LOL tho once you do you will be addicted to it's weird abusive relationship of fun. People get easily raged when things go wrong and they can't blame themselves when they make a mistake, it's a team game and lots of people don't know how to work as a team.
After loads of verbal abuse and losses you will get enraged and will need to vent just don't do it in game or you will get reported and judged by the Tribunal where they can Punish or Pardon you and if punished can get Warned, time banned or Perma Banned. It takes a lot of reports for yours to even make a stink in Tribunal so you have to be real toxic baddie to get there.
Anyway I suggest you give the game a try to see why it's pretty much the #1 PC game and lots of females play this game as well which is cool but in this video I'm about to show you shows you it can bring the nasty side out of you no matter how sweet you may be lol.

If you ever do give it a try my in game name in LOL is "Gonk" add me anytime :)
It's not that I'm not willing, it does look like fun, and I've been trying some new stuff lately while going out of my mind jonesing for FFXIV. (Even playing the beta is frustrating--don't want to ruin launch.) BUT I have never played this kind of game before (DOTA, right?). I gather that you are assigned to a team, but I would be a total newbie and not know where to start or what to do. I did google noob guides to LOL once, out of curiosity, but it seemed really complicated and you guys are all really advanced.
In all honesty, you couldn't be any worse than RJO.
If you just start with coop vs AI and stick with playing some of the easier champs you should be perfectly fine. Once you figure out how to play the game, mechanically, you can begin to look at some of the deeper topics like advanced champs, lane strategies, meta game, and other stuff. There are some really terrible players in the bot games so just being new won't make you stick out too much. Just avoid ranked games like the plague. Playing solo ranked makes me want to gouge my eyes out some times.
I tried it for a few weeks. I had fun playing against the AI. I then tried playing with other players and I absolutely hated it. Not because I was bad, but because in my opinion LoL has the worst gaming community I have ever encountered. I couldn't stand it, so I left and never went back.
Give it a try though, maybe you will have a better experience then I did.
It's surprising the differences with the players really. Playing on weekends in the early morning east coast is a totally different community. I literally can tell when the rest of the Americans start waking up and logging in. The anger level rises along with the self-entitled "I can't possibly be bad so losing must be your fault" whining.
LoL, when it comes to the community, shows the best and worst sides of free to play. Let me explain. It costs nothing to create an account and play? Awesome. It lets anybody who wants to try to the game just download and start playing. The downside of that is when people get banned or get their account suspended for being a dick, what do they do? Yep, just create another account and being their toxic selves in games with brand new players. It taints actual new players views of the community. LoL's community is huge and has its good sides and very bad sides. Unfortunately until Riot finds a way to keep people who are banned from just making new accounts the low levels of new accounts are were the worst players in skill get paired with the worst human beings. It's not a nice combination.
If im around just hit me up and i can fill you in on what ever you want to know or such about/in the game
