Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
Hey folks,
With the beta weekend coming up I have some homework for you all! We need to find the best dyes for our guild colours, Green and Gold!
It's always awesome to roll out to events in both PVE and PVP with everyone rocking green and gold and I'd love everyone's help trying to find what dyes and dye combinations work best in GW2.
Here were our colours in WAR:

Hell Yeah! Also takes out the frustration of me trying to come up with a color scheme I like :P Besides, the photos always look amazing when we match as a guild.

Here are the starting dyes I recommend you use:

Once we get in game and can find the dye vendors we'll work on getting the perfect colours down!

This was my necro at the end of beta rocking the green and gold in the crafted armor that I made with tailoring.
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
Not to criticize your tailoring, but you seemed that make that top a few sizes too small.
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
LOL I was pretty surprised when I put it on... it was way different than the armor I had started with or found up until that point. I looked like I belonged in a harem.

Can't say I care much for the common dyes. The Antique Gold is not pretty. I got lucky and picked up a dropped dye, Kelly Green, that was a bit darker than Jalapeno and looked nice, I thought. Also, sash and shoulders were Olive, another picked up rare dye. Anyone know if the rare and uncommon dyes will be something someone can craft?

Dyes can be crafted in the mystic forge.
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
and by cooking, although it's random and the mats suck.
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
We will continue to tweak as people discover dyes... I for one like the Jalapeño dye for sure
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
Jalapeño, a good pepper and a good color!
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
I tested on 8/9 for the stress test and sported the guild colors as usual. I wish I would have taken a screenshot but I will take one this time around if it happens for the next stress test. Basically I looked like the above pictures but then mixed in there was some random bright neon green trim on all of the edges of my pauldrons that stuck out like a sore thumb. It looked terrible so hopefully that will not be the norm and just a stress test issue as I do not recall ever seeing that on my previous builds for any of the beta weekends.

So, Hibs in DAoC? I was Mid. :-D
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
I like our guild colors I really do. Just not so much in GW2 especially on Heavy Armor. I don't have a clue why they just seem kind of Meh on heavy, But I did work with some different dyes and the such today and found that making the base black and highlighting with green and gold looked way better than a green or gold base

I haven't tried this combination, but it sounds great. And I agree that the standard colors in their current form are not the best combination. That's why I liked some of the more neutral greens and golds suggested here.
Although I'll wear the full-on guild colors for guild events, at other times I'll be running around in different colors (all my toons have their own color themes) and I'd like the emblem to work with them.

This is my plan as well.

Seconded.
This was one of the things I considered when I came up with this:

The backgound (which would be your main armor color) could be any shade or color and changed to "jalapeno" for guild events.
I am not lobbying for this design; just using it as an example.
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
Green Bay Packers colors. Nice. I'm cool with that as I live in green Bay, WI. ;)
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
This lead me to looking up dyes on wiki, which then lead me to the understanding that you can change your colors any time throught the Character screen. MIND BLOWN
..and the colors look good to me!
Re: Rocking the Green and Gold - Guild Colours!
Rocking Midnight Green and Wheat at the moment. Before I was using Jalapeno and a plain-old Gold dye - the colors were a bit jarring, and made a lot of gear look "enameled", even the medium armor on my thief. I much prefer my muted colors, and happily wear them when out doing stuff alone.

Not to mention that cool guild crest... although I wish the designers had seen fit to charge less than a gold piece to have it emblazoned on your armor. But it really looks sweet!
