hello all,
i am going to get a copy of the original Guild Wars sometime in the next week or so in anticipation of Guild Wars 2, which is looking incredibly fun and innovative. I hear the first is a great introduction to the world and the lore/backstory...and can earn you rewards for your Guild Wars 2 character for certain achievements (plus I hear it is just really fun and awesome!).
Is anyone interested in playing or does anyone already play? It would be fun to team up!! yayyyy.
I played the original when it first launched, and it was fun, but I never got much into the story. I suppose I could try it again if I get time.

I might be up for this if we could get a few ppl together, I didn't put too many hours into the original GW.

I couldn't get past the instancing. I usually felt as if I was playing a one player RPG.
I've never played GW, but I'd join in...my Rift subscription ends in a couple days, and the game looks interesting.
I'll come too, I always wanted to do the original campaign again

True it did feel like playing single player, but getting a group together with your guild/alliance mates and trying out one of the instanced dungeons was a blast.Quote:

Yay, I also just ordered GW1 in anticipation of GW2! I've never played the original game and would love to join up with you. I ordered the trilogy from amazon, so it probably won't be here for a week or so. Will post again when the game arrives. I've been haunting the Youtube postings for GW2, and it looks like pure awesomesauce.

I'd play it at this point if I could benefit from the HoM, but it's the only expansion I lack :(
There is an Aureus Knights guild somewhere on there... I cant remember whose account it is on? Maybe Okarias?

The bonuses are from the EoTN expansion in the Hall of Monuments. You basically get tapestries to display all your achievements and the more things you have accomplished the more extra things you can unlock in Guild wars 2.

Yeah... I have EotN but, since I started a new account, I have zero achievements. *sigh* Not only that, but I am only level 14 or so.
Well there are several types of things you can display in the HoM. There are around 5 categories to display what you want. A broad description of the categories would be Armor, Minipets, Heroes, Weapons, and accomplished titles (aka. Achievements).
But each category will only take certain types of items (except minipets, you may put in as many as you like, but each minipet can be used only once. Eg. If you dedicate a minipet named siege turtle, then there can only be one siege turtle in the Monument).
It is meant for the people who have dedicated hours to the game. But for those of us who haven't dedicated as much time, it is still feasible to get some of the rewards. Which is what I intend to do. :)
