Aureus Gaming Casual Corner - *Town of Salem* Saturday 7/2 @ 9pm EDT

It's time to mix up the game selection for the Casual Corner. This Saturday we're going to be playing Town of Salem!

A number of us recently got into this game and we think it'll be a fun game for a lot of folks.

If you're wondering what Town of Salem is, you can check out the official page at https://www.blankmediagames.com/ and watch a basic demo I recorded below.

The game is free to play in your browser, or you can purchase an app version from Steam at http://store.steampowered.com/app/334230/ (currently on sale for $3.34)

If you're really confused as to what the heck it is, feel free to ask questions below and we'll answer them as best as we can.

If you are interested in playing, either plan on using your browser or having the game installed on Steam prior to the start time. When you are in the game, shoot a friend invite to StugeGG. When we go to play on Saturday, I'll invite from my friends list. The first game we'll probably openly walk through some things, so newer folks can get a grasp of some mechanics.

The livestream and recordings of this will be a little different, as we primarily won't be using Discord to discuss what's happening. I'll most likely be doing a play-by-play of the action myself while also trying to keep up.

This game looks fun! I'm a little sad that I'll be AFK this weekend, murder and intrigue OMG!

I've tried this like 3 times when I bought it during a sale. Is there any cheat sheet that tells you what the hell to do as each role, and what not to do?

I've not played yet, but this reminds me so much of Werewolves of Miller's Hollow, so I'm pretty hyped about giving it a go.

That's the site I use for a lot of info. For a lot of the roles, it gives some basic strategies. It really helps you figure out how some roles interact with each other.

Thanks for the wiki link. I've been giving this a try and I get the mechanics, but I'm still pretty clueless on the strategy.

FYI, the plan for the event is to start with a Classic game with folks in voice chat, so we can kind of walk through things and answer questions. After that game, we'll probably do one more Classic, though if we have a good number of people, we'll probably try to limit the discussion on voice chat, if we don't just have everyone hop off of it.

After those games, we'll shoot to do Ranked Practice, which is a lot more fun, imo. If we want, we may do some of the unique game modes or setup our own custom mode.
