Hey guys,
Thanks for continuing to keep the good word about AKS out in the various forums!
I wanted to post a quick reminder that we need to keep our bumps constructive. We encourage things like testimonials or conversations about the game or guild. The problem is if we resort to single word bumps we end up in a place where our threads get locked or we look less than desirable to new comers checking out the thread.

Oh yea completely forgot that they wiped the threads. We won't be able to create another thread until level 25 I believe. I think that the people who have posted have legacy characters tied to their accounts.

I mean no offense by asking. But at some point do you plan on closing recruitment? Or is the goal to simply have the largest quantity of members? Considering we already have so many people, I'm not sure if there was a number you were trying to reach... or if you intend to remain open admittance to all?
As a policy we never turn the tap off. But we do slow the flow. We actually haven't done a single shred of recruiting since the game has gone live (that includes beta 4) and we don't really see the need to do much now.Quote:

1) Our brand in the community. We want to be seen as a premier group on the server. It is important when talking about alliances or when we do actually need to actively recruit people to fill raid spots later on, etc to have people know that we are not just some stupid zerg guild that you seeeverywhere.
2) Keep the fresh blood flowing, at least at a minimal level. September 9th is the first churn window for the game. Some 1.0 players, including within this guild will not subscribe and will cease playing the game. 15 days after that you'll hit another chrun window when the new players have to pay. 15 days after that and on and on. As a community that's seen a lot of games launched over the years (both failed and successful) you cannot underestimate how big of a risk churn is. And recruiting only gets harder as time elapses. So keeping a minimum viable flow of new blood is actually very important in these early stages.
This isn't directly related, but something great happened yesterday, and I feel the community should know. We had a couple folks in Northern Thanalan trying to kill some things, but it was difficult. A couple guys from EDEN strolled by, stuck around, and made sure that our people were alive and well. After thanking them and talking for a while, their reasoning for this was that our entire community from the start of the game has been and still is very helpful to their newer players. These actions were noticed by them, and they openly offered their assistance to us if ever we need it.
Sister/friend guild? I don't know how Alliances or anything work in FF:XIV, but I feel this acknowledgement of how supportive we are should be noted. Yet another reason I'm so happy to have the opportunity to be a Knight!

Meh. I guess I'm still hanging out in unprocessed land. Personally I tend to be of the opinion if you can't see why I'm awesome, I'm probably hanging with the wrong group. More used to being wooed than inspected. But I'll play along, just that investment is a two way street. I'm investing in people here, players, forum, etc. If I ain't in, I'd rather invest in other places. But I'll try to pretend to be patient, nontheless.
Sister guilds are the best, especially if we can help each other in more of the harder areas (World Bosses, etc) or just in general.Quote:

Just tossing out the idea, might be a good time to make a new recruitment post on Reddit. There'll probably be alot of returning players this week(and maybe some new) that'll be looking to get back into the swing of things with Ninjas and new content. Looks like our last post was 10 months ago.
