Re: Your must have UI addons
I will add some more for ppl to try.
ProcsHUD: Popups for procs.
AuraMastery: Track skills how ever you want, much like the one in wow
Movable Frames: Move/resize stuff, though I really only use it to lock stuff in place.
Steer: Uses Wildstar's native Mouse Lock functionality, binding it to movement among other things.
Cheat Simon: Use if you hate the Simon says memory game.
Re: Your must have UI addons
Has anyone tried deadlock? I tried it for a bit but couldn't get used to it. I need to look around too much while tanking.
Re: Your must have UI addons
I have to play around with all of these suggestions. I grabbed a few to try out last night and they were welcome changes, thanks guys!
Re: Your must have UI addons
Thanks for bringing up ClassicQuestDialog, I'm one of those guys that prefers a bit more verbose text writeups over the Twitter style that is the default, and this lets you see all the conversation options without having to do extra clicking.
Re: Your must have UI addons
I use Deadlock and Keybindfreedom (among many others).
I've bind the lock cam on "q" and I use the ïnteligent mode". WIth the keybinf I've maped 1 and 2 on the right and middle click. It's perfect to use the spam skill of my war and the 4 hit combo. I almost feel playing Tera :)
Re: Your must have UI addons
Thanks for the list of addons, I'll be checking them out for sure after launch, since today is the last day of open beta. Which means launch is coming soon!
Re: Your must have UI addons
Finally tried ClassicQuestDialog. Simpler... but something about the click-through process makes it feel more real to me. Having to click to ask the question, instead of having all of the questions spelled out for me in one list, I don't know, it felt more like a dialog.
By the way, somewhat add-on related... I got very tired of the 30 second pre-order advertisement (since I've already pre-ordered). There's a Carbine addon called "GameExit" within the addon section that can be disabled, so that you don't see the ad while waiting your 30 seconds. You also don't see the timer, which kind of sucks, so it's a lesson in patience.
Re: Your must have UI addons
Fast Target Frames - Amazing addon that increases FPS :D
Re: Your must have UI addons
I didn't play with many addons during the beta as I wanted to see what Carbine's UI concept was first. The fact that the whole stock UI is modular is a great decisions by the dev. I actually like quite a bit about the stock UI, with the exception of the nameplates, which I replaced with Biji Plates. I'll start tweaking the UI as I level during early access and am glad to have a nice list of addons to check out.
Re: Your must have UI addons
For those of you interested in Addons, there is an unreleased video in this video where they talk about the design philosophy of their addons. Unreleased vid starts at ~6:20 but the whole thing is worth watching

Keep watching for discussion of it and questions following.
They have made their addon/UI creator fully available to the users, there is nothing you cannot do that they could not. The editor is installed and updated with the game so you have full, easy access to the complete API and even their addon source code. If you dont like the way something is done or want to have something included, you can always write it yourself.
