The new esoterics gear is there and it's ilvl 200 (better than Alexander normal). You can get 450 per week. You can upgrade it with item you get from Alexander (savage) 2 and up. You can use 4 token (that you get from its floor) to get the item.
990 for weapons
825 chest/pants
495 head/hands/boots

So with that in mind, we should totally do Ravana ex to get a few weapons for achivement and for people that will not buy weapon as their 1st piece. But after that, do we have a better plan to spend our raid time, until everyone is ready next month?
I still think farming out RavEx will be a good way to spend our time for now. If we get weapons for everyone that is here, that means those people can spend their tomes on other stuff and save their weapons for later / gear up faster.
Edit: Also, apparently the DPS check at the gate/trash boss of Savage-1 is pretty intense. Without gear, we're not getting past that guy any time soon. :D
pretty sure everyone has law gear (maybe not all upgraded) but for dps at least with gear of the same ilvl the biggest upgrade is pretty much always weapon > chest/pants > the rest. But until you get the esoterics weapon, of course the ravana weapon will be better, since at the very least you will not be able to get the esoteric one before the 4th of August.
We don't know what the accuracy caps for Savage is, but since almost all the Esoterics gear as accuracy on them, some BiS for dps will come from Alexander normal (until you can get your hand on some Alexander savage loot anyway)
Also, since we have our main pretty much figured out for raiding, people may want to update their secondary class. Mine will not change and it shall be warrior. (unless other people really want to tank beside me and Andaris, who I think will change from PLD to DRK). Because we may need to run a floor of Alexander at least 8 weeks to get enough token (depending on the gear), if we aren't lucky on the drop.

Tactic 1 - PLD
Marks 2 players with Prey, make sure the tank has 1 and the other player stands next to the PLD, stack at A.
All other players should spread around B, C and D.
Ravana will rush at both Prey targets.
Both Prey targets should be fully healed, shielded and any cool down you can give them.
PLD uses Cover on the other player.
When Adamant is gone, I can go on WAR if we can get a replacement dps or we can actually try the 1 tank strats with Haz
I see no reason to try a one tank strat.
The bar fade away as the boss become untargetable...

Had I not panicked, walked into the fire and died, we'd have had it.
We all made small mistake that if we haven't made or death, we hadn't would have got us the small amount of hp Ravana had left.
After watching the video again, Andaris, I think someone killed you on the sword thing. By running to the middle directly and not toward Ravana last position. You didn't went to the center too early since you were the 1st mark, you had to go there and you did. :P
Nah, he survived the swords and the smashy, but he got killed by the fire debuff (same as Kheo); if you have that fire debuff, you're pretty much sure to get pwnt. I died from rez sickness (started late on the stupid balls) + debuff + purple shit.Quote:

I did die to the sword rush (Swift Liberation?) when I was the first to get hit. I thought it was odd because I was dead directly in the center of the arena. Either way, I blame the Black Mage; need more Flare!
So what's the plan for Sunday? Finding a replacement tank or dps (if I go tank) for Ravana ex, or are we doing something else (Alex normal) or nothing at all? (I prefer Ravana Ex)
We can poke around for a replacement tank/DPS. I'm fine either way.

Im not saying we can't beat it like we are right now, but to be honest, the little push could help.
If Gwen is going smn for raiding purpose (she don't like the dps aspect of mch), I will go back to support. But I think I will lvl mch and see which one I prefer between brd and mch.
But if I remember, Bard is better if you are caster heavy and MCH if you are melee heavy. But not sure how much difference it is. Pretty sure the difference is negligible.
