Playing with Aureus Knights in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Gilgamesh Server)

We will have a launch event but it'll be on day 2 or 3. The first day is all about accomplishing what you want to accomplish :)

Plus wouldn't we all need to get up to lvl 15 to all meet up together in-game?

In theory. You can walk across the zones and that could be part of an event as well.

We could do something with fresh characters, etc, etc. Not without options.

Beta 4 = launch.

My concern is this..... Back at 1.0 launch the server for the linkshell I belonged to was so overloaded (Mysidia) that character creation on it was suspended for quite a while. We had guildies trying to get in and not being able to due to the server being locked. With Gilgamesh being so popular, we might run into this problem quite early on.... which will be very frustrating, yet I really can't think of any way that this can be helped. :ohcrap:

I'm sure if something like that ends up happening we'll just postpone the event until things stabilize out. Maybe instead we'll have a LockOut event where only the members who are able to get into the server participate, with the goal being to get to a certain spot at a certain time for a guild screenshot proving that you had bested Square-Enix's attempt to deny you the access you so rightly deserve.

There's a fairly good chance that this will happen, and there's absolutely nothing we'll be able to do about it. It will just require everyone to be patient. I know it's terrible to sit there and wait while you know other people are enjoying the game, the patience pays off after a short time.

Locking the Character creation for a server? i have never heard of an mmo that did this. is this something that only square does? has anyone heard of this in any other mmo?

i mean i have played Vanguard, Dragon's Prophet, Eq2, Tera, and wow all from launch date and have never seen this happen. i didnt stay more than a few weeks in some of those games, 24hrs in the case of wow.
