Wow.com has reportedly discovered two playable races premiering in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion; the Worgen (Alliance) and Goblins (Horde). Both races have been present within the World of Warcraft universe since launch, and a step towards making them a choice for players is definitely plausible given Blizzard's last race additions back in The Burning Crusade.
You idiots and your Horde selection :( I love the Worgen - would love to play them.
I really hope they are neutral or something.
Wow. If those are the best races that they can come up with, Warcraft just flopped.
...Cause somehow it makes sense that the True neutral race Goblins suddenly joins the horde and suddenly the terrorizing werewolf people become good?
Question: What happens to Booty Bay?
The worgen actually make sense if they use Gilneas which they will most likely do. I don't think anything happens with Booty Bay and the like because it will most likely be a different faction of Goblin. As a human one of the first thing you kill is other humans. You pretty much kill every race in the game on the grind to 80. I'm sure they will spin it that a faction of Goblins will see some profit to the horde and sign on up.Quote:

The Draeni race was hostile to everyone before TBC, and you fought them several times as you leveled through the old world; the playable version of the Draeni we have today are a different faction from those. Why then is it confusing to some folks that there would be a different faction of Goblins as a playable race for the Horde side, or the Worgen for the Alliance? =P
Just like those dwarves north of MC, they were a different faction of the bad dwarves in BRC who were a different faction of dwarves! Or maybe the BRC dwarves splintered to make two different factions AT THE SAME TIME, the ones that help the alliance and the ones that sell you some potions north of MC but they're different honest!
Yea...I played a long time ago. Does anyone who plays now even know what MC is anymore? I hear it's like a solo dungeon now?
I have amazingly been playing and raiding since Vanilla WoW. I 3 manned Onxyia. Haven't been back into MC yet but I bet a few of the bosses could be solo'd by the right classes.Quote:

What I'm saying is there's definatly better choices for races than those two. It's like saying, lets put some scourge demons in but put them on the alliance side because they're a different faction?
I agree with RJO, WoW lore flows like water.
A little different than adding demons in simply because they "humans" that are most likely going to be worgen are former members of the alliance. That bailed when they did not like the way things were being dealt with. The new king of Stormwind might have been able to talk them into rejoining due to his totally anti horde point of view. See I don't agree that wow lore flows like water that makes it seem weak and ill though out. It is certainly a very dynamic lore but in a way you have to expect a lot of that from an mmo. If they never changed or impacted the world around us, by making us feel like we are shaping part of that lore the game would be pretty boring to A LOT of people. I'm not saying it is without error and some glaring holes in its continuity but for the most part the story telling over the last few years in WoW tying it into WC3, the books, the comics, and the like has really become a lot of fun to be a part of!
