My extended Absence.... (Jay Roc)

Hi all,

For those who've been here a while, you may have noticed i have not been on ffxiv for a while. I would first like to apologize for my absence, as I feel it unfair to you guys/gals to leave unannounced until now. I also feel that i should at least explain why i havent been able to come online at all in recent times. There are two main reasons I have not been on, (1) due to loss of interest from a grind over the summer and drama with my raid group (not in the FC, just a group of people i have known while here on gilgamesh), and (2), simply put, school. Ill take time to address these two things which have caused my long time away from ffxiv.

(1): For any of you who have played this game as much as I have over the years, you know just as well as me that we have our ups and downs as ffxiv develops. Right now is just a down for me. Since school had impeded my ability to play a lot, the most I could do during this semester was raid with a group briefly during the week. Drama between members led to its disbanding, and without a stable raid group i was left with basically nothing. I played briefly upon arrival of 3.1, yet I just felt I had to take some time off the game because I reached a point where i wasnt enjoying what ffxiv had to offer.

(2): this semester at college severely constricted my ability to play ffxiv to its fullest, and thus, didnt let me get done what i would have liked to during my free time. the stress of incessant schoolwork added to the struggle i had with enjoying the game.

Lastly, I would like to say that I miss all of you who i have had the pleasure of playing with, and that I do have a sincere intention to return to ffxiv sometime soon in the future. Since this semester will end tomorrow with my last final, i will have more free time to do what i want, and i expect to return during this coming vacation. this is of course because ill be able to enjoy what ffxiv has without the stress of tests, papers, etc. I understand if i have been removed from the FC because it has been at least a month and I gave no fair warning to the good officers who work to keep things smooth. Alas, if this has happened, when i return, I will definitely seek re entry. If im still on the roster, i will be happy to play with yall once again when i return. I look forward to returning to ffxiv sometime soon, and i hope yall can understand why i decided i could not play for the past month. I would just like to reiterate how much time i have put into the game, and that is likely a key factor as to my recent unsatisfaction with the game itself. I just simply needed a break for a while.

We'll be around whenever you come back bud :)
If you stay offline it's possible you'll get removed to make room during a purge, but since you're already a knight all ya have to do is ask and you're home again. Take the time off and recharge. I was out for over a month and it's made coming back a lot more enjoyable.

Nice to hear from you again! I took a break too! They are needed and healthy!

I know how much school work can suck and totally destroy any fun you have playing a game, been there - and I'm sure I will be back there soon enough xD

I just looked through the FC lists and you're still around, if any of the other officers decides to go on a kicking spree I will try and stay their hand in regards to you, lol.
